Someone on flickr has managed to get over 200 photos from the GDC Sony press conference. There are some interesting things to take note of:

In one of the pictures of a F1 race, it clearly looks like the girl is using a 360 controller. (Of course this isn’t the case, but it looks nothing like the PS3 controller. So maybe this is the redesign we have been hearing about.)
Graphics look sweet as :)
One of the slides state that Games with launch from the HDD. Could be interesting.

Everything will be ready for E3 including the Blu-Ray drive.
Australia was mentioned on a silde for November launch. (YAH WE DO EXSIT.)

Playstation 3 Release Dates

Ofcourse nothing official has been announced but Absolutely is claiming the following release dates for the PS3.

Japan - Spring 2006, most likely around April or May
US - Late 2006
Europe - Early 2007
Australia - Early 2007

For some reason I find this completely false, I don’t see sony release there console a full year behind Xbox, but then again stranger things have happened. And of course Australia and Europe get the shit end of the deal.

GTA 4 Completely Rebuilt

In the latest issue of PSM. The PSM crew got to speak to Rockstar about there work on the PS3, here is what they said regarding GTA 4.

Rockstar North is creating a specialized game engine for PS3 that will bring GTA 4 to life to a degree that the PS2 games could only hint at. Specifically, they’re going to be using the high data transfer bandwidth of the Cell CPU, RSX GPU, and Blu-ray Disc to use several streams of game info simultaneously. The game’s city- unfortunately yet to be even hinted at- will still be free roaming and seamless, but broken down into smaller, more detailed areas at the engine level, into which the game designers are going to be able to pour more textures, more object variety, and tons of details (such as discarded soda cans with their own physics), just for starters. The goal is a city that’s less repetitive and where everything - and everyone- looks and acts more like they would in the real world on every level.

Hurry up next generation.

Sonic: The Next Generation

Sonic is set to show us his moves on the next generation of consoles in less then a week. Sega is going to be making an announcment regarding the next Sonic game on September 9th, and then will be shown off during the Tokyo Gaming Show. (TGS Woot!) I really can’t wait for the Tokyo Gaming Show now. Any one wanna pay for my airline ticket?

PS3 to come with Keyboard and Mouse?

Apprently Sony is going to be implementing a PS3 keyboard and mouse combo. At the game dev conference Sony exces are quoted as saying that you will be able to play Unreal Tornament 2007 with the WASD/Pointer combo. Lets hope this is true because I hate using controllers for FPS on consoles.

Amazon France is at it Again this time with the PS3

Seems that Amazon France knows some things that we all don’t. They are claiming a 15 March 06 release date for the PS3, and a price point of $399.99 euro. Of course take this as only a rumor.
