Trying to halve the cost of a 360 and screw EB Games
I start this post a mere 13 minutes after the launch of the Xbox 360 in Australia. I was not at the launch, but i was there in the moments leading up to it, in a frantic rush.
It all started after dinner in the city which finished around 9:30, Aaron an i decided to walk to the games stores about 10-15 minutes away and check out what was going on for launch(Aaron didnt want to go because he was pissed that JB-HIFI were not doing a midnight launch and thats where he preordered). We walked into one EB Games and laughed at there crazy trade-in deals. 37 games and a ps2 or xbox console for a premium Xbox 360 the guy did say though no exlusions and any number of the same game. We left and ended up at the GameRush stores on Elizabeth St, we noticed in there ps2 games for $14.95. If i bought 37 of them that would be about $553.95 but if i could convince them to give me a discount for so many maybe i could swing a cheap premium though it looked doubtful(they offered about $70 off. Untill we came across a bunch of games for 9.95 mostly x-squad at least 12 copies for ps2, suddenly it was on!
37 games = 370 dollars + a second hand console at eb worth 149 and premium pack for 519. Still alot of work for 100 dollars off. Now both of us owned ps2’s however mine broke down 3-4 months ago and is now on pieces on the floor, but i still had 7 games and a shit load of accesories i couldnt use and Aaron had 2 games and his console which he was going to give to me just for the sake of getting a 360 so cheap. Suddenly we were looking good our 9 games + 28 $9.95 games + his console = $278 for a premium OMFG.
Except it was 10:40 and we were still in the city and had to go home to get the games, two different houses. We go back to the car then race to my house which was closest and we left there at 10:50 with 7 games. Made it to his house and grab his 2 games and test the ps2. It failed, his PS2 had stopped working it booted but wouldnt load any games we tried.
Desperate i wanted to call EB Games and see what trade in deal they would give us for just 37 games, only problem we didnt have the number or a phone book, or the internet at his new house so off we went again at 11:15.
Sparing you the details of travel and hassel to the closest house we knew we could go to with internet at 11:15 at night here is the results of the phone call. Without the console they said they would evaluate the games 1 at a time with a minium of 10 dollars each plus a 10% bonus on top(so lets assume about 11 dollars per game). Suddenly things werent looking so good 9 of our games + 28 9.95 games = 278.60 valued at 37*11 = $407. Not worth it really for all the effort seeing as i didnt really have $400.
I then figured alright lets go back to buying a ps2, EB Games had a preowned for $149. Now i know i could find one cheaper but remember i wanted to get one for launch and i didnt have GameRush’s phone number to get a better price. 278.60+149 =$427.60 for a 649 dollar Xbox 360 console. Still worth it however i am literally broke atm and would have been doing this on a Credit Card so its now 11:40 we are in the city approching GameRush hoping that if i buy 27 9.95 games they will discount them or a preowned ps2 for under $90 for the ps2 so i would get a Xbox 360 Premium for about $360-370. However, GameRush had since shut till midnight in preparation for launch till 12:01 too late to make it to EB Games in time for tonight(also they only had 3 cores and 1 premium left between the 2 EB stores in the city.
So I left without and Xbox 360 at launch. However if they are still offering there trade-in deal tommorow i may try again. This time picking up a second hand console an Cash Convertors which I heard has ps2 games from $7.50. So will i have a 360 tommorow? I doubt it but i will try to buy one for $360 dollars or less.
I am only left like Aaron thinking if only we thought of it a day earlier even 12 hours earlier we might have been able to get me an Xbox 360 for half price, seeing as we have no use for those 9 ps2 games we currenty have with no console to play them on and little trade-in value. At least Aarons still getting his.

I traded in… Xbox, 2 controllers, 13 games that i dont play… coming from PS2 and Xbox.
for one game: Ricky Ponting Cricket on PS2 - $56 + 10% on each trade in
Total Trade in? $340.21
Total remaining on Xbox360 premium? $299.79
Not bad considering i traded the games i thought were shit…and well, i have like 300 games anyway lol… yes legit too :P
There were a heap of Xbox 360’s left here in sydney…GG Melbourne :P

· have high blood pressure;
· have high cholesterol;
· smoke; or
· have certain eye problems.
• Stop using Viagra if you have any loss in your eyesight and seek medical help right away.
• Do not take Viagra if you are using a nitrate drug for chest pain or heart problems. Nitrates include nitroglycerin (Nitrostat, Nitrolingual, Nitro-Dur, Nitro-Bid, Minitran, Deponit, Transderm-Nitro, others), isosorbide dinitrate (Dilatrate-SR, Isordil, Sorbitrate), and isosorbide mononitrate (Imdur, ISMO, Monoket). Nitrates are also found in some recreational drugs such as amyl nitrate or nitrite (\”poppers\”).
• Before taking Viagra, tell your doctor if you
· have had a heart attack, stroke, or life-threatening irregular heartbeats within the last six months;
· have a history of heart failure;
· have coronary artery disease;
· have angina;
· have high or low blood pressure;
· have liver problems;
· have kidney problems;
· have ever had blood problems, including sickle cell anemia or leukemia;
· have a bleeding disorder;
· have a stomach ulcer;
· have retinitis pigmentosa (an inherited condition of the eye);
· have a physical deformity of the penis such as Peyronie\’s disease;
· have a condition that could lead to prolonged and painful erections, such as a tumor of the bone marrow, sickle cell anemia, or leukemia; or
· are taking another medicine to treat impotence, such as alprostadil (Caverject, Muse, Edex) or yohimbine (Yocon, Yodoxin, others).
• You may not be able to take Viagra, or you may require a dosage adjustment or special monitoring during treatment if you have any of the conditions listed above.
• Although Viagra is not indicated for use by women, it is in the FDA pregnancy category B. This means that Viagra is not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby. Viagra should not be taken by women.
• It is not known whether Viagra passes into breast milk. Viagra should not be taken by women.
• If you are over 65 years of age, you may be more likely to experience side effects from Viagra. Your doctor may prescribe a lower dose of this medication.
