*Idea* How to revolutionize the Sports Genre

Why do you buy Fifa 2005 if you have Fifa 2004? The answer is obvious for serious soccer fans, updated stats, and a more realistic control experience and visuals. So why does EA bother making a whole new game? The graphic difference between versions is slim you have to jump 2 or more versions to notice a major graphics change. On top of that you dilute the number of people who can play together, i have version 2004 but 2 of my friends have 2002 and another has 2005(for example) we cant play together as differing versions. So my proposel is a MMORPG style subscription fee (maybe just one fee to cover all ea’s games console and pc sports titles) you pay (or a one of year subscription retail box) to be able to the game update with the latest player stats, as well as access to an offical moderated ranking system. Then in two years you get a $10 dollar reduction on the new version that has the updated physics and visuals. Less versions means more consistancy(who seriously likes re-learning the controls with each version) cheaper for the gamer and developer. It also ties all EA’s games together, it applies to all the NFL, NHL, Soccer, Tennis any sports title you can think of. This is as relavent as ever with EA’s new NFL title smashing all previous sales records for first week with a reported figure of 1.7 million shipped.
